# Tipping

> Send USDC from your game balance to another player: limits, what it costs, and what it does not count towards.

Tipping moves USDC straight from your game balance to another player's. It is settled by the same on-chain program that settles bets, so a tip is a public, verifiable transfer rather than an internal note.

## Sending a tip

Two entry points, both on a player you can see in the app:

* the message menu on any chat message,
* the player's profile card, including from your [Network](/docs/network/overview).

Enter an amount, review the recipient, and confirm in your wallet. Once the transaction confirms, the amount leaves your game balance and lands in theirs.

  **A tip cannot be reversed.** Nothing in the program can pull it back, and support cannot either. Check the recipient before you confirm.

## What it costs

* **MCC takes no fee.** The recipient gets the full amount you sent.
* **You pay the Solana network fee**, as with any transaction you sign, in SOL.

## Rules the program enforces

These are checked on-chain, so they hold whatever the app does:

| Sufficient balance             | The amount must be covered by your game balance                                                                                           |
| Your wallet must sign          | A [session key](/docs/getting-started/sessions-and-devices) can never send a tip, so tips cannot be sent from a linked device             |

On top of those, the app applies daily limits of **50 tips and 1,000 USDC per day**, and lets each player turn tips off (below).

## A tip is not a wager

This matters, because it closes the obvious loophole:

* it does **not** count towards your wagered volume,
* it does **not** pay referral commission to anyone,
* it does **not** count towards daily chest qualification or season points,
* it does **not** qualify the recipient for anything.

Tips move money between players. Only real bets generate the house edge that funds the [Network](/docs/network/affiliate-economics), so only real bets count.

## Receiving tips

Tips arrive in your game balance and you are notified in the app. There is nothing to claim: the amount is ordinary balance, so you can play with it or withdraw it.

To stop receiving them, turn off **Allow other players to tip me** in **Profile › Account settings**. Other players can then no longer send you a tip from the app. Tips you already received are unaffected.

  That preference is enforced by the application. The rules in the table above are the ones written into the on-chain program itself; the daily limits and the opt-out are applied by MCC on top of them.

## If tipping is unavailable

Tipping has its own on-chain switch, separate from the games. It can be turned off, and stopped immediately by a guardian if anything looks wrong, without affecting betting, deposits or withdrawals.
